Oladapo Olatunbosun has rounded off his two-term, four-year tenure as National President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM), paving the way for the emergence of Barrister Edu Inyang as the new president of the association.

This was disclosed in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports following a keenly contested election held during the Association’s 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja, where Barrister Edu Inyang emerged as the new National President of NALPGAM.

In the statement confirming the emergence of the new executives, NALPGAM noted that the conclusion of Oladapo Olatunbosun’s two-term tenure marks a new chapter for the association, coming at a time when Nigeria is intensifying efforts to boost domestic gas consumption under the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative.

The election also produced Ude Godwin as National Deputy President, Prince Odo Gbolahan as National Financial Secretary, Damilola Osinusi as National Publicity Secretary, and Chiedu Loving Son as National Treasurer.

His administration also oversaw a significant rise in domestic LPG consumption, from about 900,000 metric tonnes to over two million metric tonnes, through improved supply chains and stronger industry partnerships.
He championed the adoption of technology and digital tools to curb theft and enhance operational safety, positioning the sector for modernization.
Barrister Edu Inyang, the new President, in his speech, expressed gratitude to members of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) for entrusting him with the leadership of the association, pledging to promote inclusivity, stronger policy engagement, and enhanced national visibility.

“I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to God and to all members of NALPGAM for finding me worthy to be elected as President of our great association,” Inyang said, acknowledging the intense campaign period leading up to the election.

He commended all contestants for their spirited participation and assured members of fairness and unity under his administration. “For those who won, we will be magnanimous in victory, and for those who did not, there will always be another opportunity. What matters is our shared commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s LPG sector,” he added.

Outlining his policy priorities, Inyang said his administration would focus on expanding LPG access to rural communities, strengthening collaboration with regulators, and deepening cohesion among members.

He reaffirmed NALPGAM’s commitment to advancing the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative, emphasizing efforts to make cooking gas more available and affordable nationwide.

According to him, “We will vigorously pursue the Federal Government’s policy of deepening gas usage in Nigeria. Our goal is to ensure that LPG becomes easily accessible and affordable, even in the most remote areas.”

Inyang also pledged to enhance engagement with regulators and industry stakeholders to foster a transparent and competitive operating environment for marketers across the country.
