CIoD Nigeria sets October 22–23 for 2025 Annual Directors’ conference in Abuja

The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD Nigeria) has announced its 2025 Annual Directors’ Conference (ADC 2025), a two-day flagship event scheduled for October 22–23, 2025, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

The event is expected to bring together business leaders, policymakers, regulators, and thought leaders to discuss key issues shaping corporate governance and leadership in Nigeria.

Otunba Adetunji Oyebanji, President & Chairman of the Governing Council of CIoD Nigeria, made this announcement during a press conference at the institute’s National Secretariat in Lagos.

According to him, the two-day conference will be held under the theme: “Leading Through Change: Building Sustainable and Inclusive Enterprises.”

The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD Nigeria) is the premier professional body for directors and business leaders in Nigeria.

Oyebanji described the conference as the cornerstone of the Institute’s advocacy efforts.

He said, “This period of change is not merely a threat; it is a profound opportunity, an opportunity to forge a new path, redefine our purpose, and build institutions that are not only resilient but more impactful and reflective of the world we serve.”

He further emphasized that the conference would provide a platform for directors and policymakers to address pressing economic issues, with a focus on good governance, inclusivity, and sustainability.

Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Chairman of the National Organising Committee (NOC), in his remarks, highlighted the continuity of the Institute’s thought leadership.

He said, “This year, we are clearly saying that leaders must survive change, lead through it, and build enterprises that are sustainable, innovative, and inclusive.

“This is how we contribute as directors and leaders to the urgent task of nation building,” Otunba Ashiru said.

The two-day flagship event will feature President Bola Tinubu as Special Guest of Honour; Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman, Chairman, Ministry of Finance Incorporated, as Conference Chairman; and Mr. Kola Adesina, Group Managing Director of Sahara Power Group, as Keynote Speaker.

Other Guests of Honour include Hon. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy; Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission; Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; and Senator Abubakar Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.

A major highlight of the conference will be the “Business Meets Government Dinner” on Thursday, October 23, 2025 – an exclusive engagement designed to foster dialogue and collaboration between business leaders and top government officials.

With an array of plenary discussions, panel sessions, and networking opportunities, ADC 2025 aims to equip directors, policymakers, and industry stakeholders with actionable insights to navigate uncertainty, drive innovation, and promote sustainable enterprise growth.

The Institute also acknowledged its headline sponsor, FirstBank of Nigeria Ltd, alongside other sponsors, partners, and media organizations for their steadfast support and commitment to strengthening corporate governance and leadership excellence in Nigeria.

The Institute is dedicated to promoting sound corporate governance, ethical leadership, and sustainable enterprise practices across both public and private sectors.
