…crude oil output falls to 1.43m bopd, as condensate slips to 197,229 bopd

Nigeria’s crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.63 million barrels per day (bopd) in August 2025, down 4.7 percent from 1.71 million bopd in July, according to industry data.

The country also fell short of its 1.5 million bopd OPEC quota by nearly 4 percent, a shortfall attributed to an unscheduled single-day maintenance shutdown at one of its oil facilities.

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) disclosed the figures in its Crude Oil and Condensate Production Report for August 2025, released on Saturday and obtained by Advisors Reports.

According to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigeria’s combined crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.63 million barrels per day (bopd) in August 2025, up from 1.58 million bopd recorded in the same period last year.

A breakdown of the figures shows that crude oil output stood at 1.43 million bopd, representing a 5.47% increase compared to 1.36 million bopd in August 2024.

However, condensate production declined slightly to 197,229 bopd, down from 220,435 bopd a year earlier.

On a month-to-month basis, crude oil production dropped by 4.8%, slipping from 1.5 million bopd in July 2025. For the month under review, daily combined crude and condensate production ranged between a low of 1.59 million bopd and a peak of 1.85 million bopd.

In August, the Forcados Terminal emerged as the leading producer, delivering a total of 8.99 million barrels, made up of 8.08 million barrels of crude oil and 915,200 barrels of condensates.

It was followed by the Bonny Terminal, which posted a combined output of 6.26 million barrels, comprising 5.8 million barrels of crude and 418,270 barrels of condensates.

The Qua Iboe Terminal contributed 4.99 million barrels, with crude oil accounting for 4.94 million barrels and condensates making up 50,500 barrels.

Similarly, the Escravos Oil Terminal recorded 4.18 million barrels, broken down into 4.08 million barrels of crude oil and 107,000 barrels of condensates.
