NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) has signed a Vessel Management Agreement (VMA) to provide comprehensive vessel technical management services for the new 23,000 cubic metre LPG vessel, LPG Alfred Temile 10, owned by Temile Development Company Limited.

The VMA was signed by Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed, NSML’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Alfred Temile, Temile Development’s Chief Executive Officer, during a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday.

Advisors Reports gathered that the Alfred Temile 10, with an IMO number of 9937127 and MMSI of 310842000, is a new LPG tanker built in 2020, delivered in 2024 and currently sailing under the flag of Bermuda.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ahmed emphasized NSML’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Alfred Temile 10.

He noted the long-standing relationship with Temile Development Company, which began with the delivery of the first LPG vessel, LPG Alfred Temile, to NLNG in 2020.

“The relationship grew with the construction, supervision, and delivery of the second LPG vessel, Alfred Temile 10, to Nigeria in March 2024.

“This momentous occasion represents our shared commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation in the maritime industry,” Mr. Ahmed said.

He also highlighted Mr. Alfred Temile’s determination in expanding his LPG vessel fleet within four years, emphasizing the Alfred Temile 10’s modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible design and technology.

Mr. Temile stressed that the new vessel will significantly enhance gas transportation in Nigeria, improving the company’s capacity to deliver high-quality services while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

He expressed confidence that the partnership with NSML will set a new industry benchmark and revealed plans for further strategic investments, including a third gas carrier later this year, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable growth and value for shareholders and Nigeria.

The keynote speaker, Engr. Felix Ogbe, Executive Secretary, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) commended NSML and Temile Development Company for their collaboration, highlighting the ample human capacity, resources, and tenacity within the country to achieve great feats.

He called for increased collaboration and cooperation in the maritime industry.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, represented by Mrs. Ekanem Ogegere Celia, Deputy Director, Cabotage and Shipping; Mr. Andy Odeh, General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development; and Dr. Salihu Jamari, Chief Investment Officer, NNPC Gas & Power Investment Services, among others.
