Oredola Adeola

The Board of Directors of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has officially announced the appointment of Engineer Francis Agoha as the Acting Managing Director and Engineer Adeoye Fadeyibi as the Expert Consultant Adviser.

This significant change comes as the tenure of Engineer Kingsley Achife’s contract as Managing Director comes to an end.

The new leadership change, according to the DisCo’s Board of Directors, was part of the company’s strategic plan to successfully transition to new investors.

This was contained in a statement released by Busolami Tunwase, IBEDC’s spokesperson, and obtained by Advisors Reports on Monday.

The Board revealed that Engr. Agoha has been an integral part of the executive team as Chief Technical Officer and assumes the role of Acting Managing Director.

The Acting MD with over 20 years of experience in the power sector, is therefore expected to collaborate closely with the Board to ensure continuity and drive the company’s strategic imperatives.

Speaking about the relevance of Engr Fadeyibi’s appointment, the Board stated that it is a crucial step in ensuring a focus on enhancing supply availability and reliability, as well as improving Aggregate Technical, Commercial and Collection (ATC&C) efficiency.

Engr. Fadeyibi is therefore expected to collaborate closely with the Board to spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing commercial and technical losses within the company.

The IBEDC’s Consulting Adviser’s expertise and leadership, according to the Board will be pivotal in advancing IBEDC’s goals and enhancing operational efficiency.

“He will be working closely with the Board and relevant stakeholders in delivering the transition timeline mandate,” the Board noted.

Having previously held the position of Managing Director/CEO at both Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Engr. Fadeyibi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as an Expert Consultant Adviser to the IBEDC’s Board.

In this capacity, he will be providing specialized guidance and recommendations to the DisCo, leveraging his in-depth knowledge to assist in decision-making processes, problem-solving, and project implementation.

The IBEDC’s Board of Directors further reaffirmed its commitment to delivering reliable electricity services to its customers and stakeholders.

“These strategic appointments signal our resolve to accelerate growth, enhance performance, and navigate a successful transition with a committed focus, ” IBEDC assured.
