NNPC denies petrol price hike, says cause of supply tightness resolved!

.. “avoid panic buying, products are sufficient in the country”- Soneye urges motorists

Oredola Adeola

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has urged Nigerians to disregard rumors of an imminent price increase in the pump price of petrol, attributing the current supply tightness currently being witnessed across some parts of the country to logistics issues that it claimed have since been resolved.

Olufemi Soneye,  Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd, made this known in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Thursday.

According to him, the cause of the tightness in the fuel supply has been resolved.

He therefore urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying emphasising that products are sufficient in the country.

The NNPC’s spokesman said, “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.”
