PTDF extends deadline for 2024/2025 overseas scholarship scheme application to March 21, 2024

Oredola Adeola

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, stated that it has extended the deadline for the 2024/2025 Overseas Scholarship Scheme application from Monday, March 18, 2024, to Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 11.59pm.

According to a statement obtained by Advisors Reports, eligible candidates are urged to utilize the extension and submit their applications promptly.

PTDF further emphasised that the applications for the 2024/2025 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme is for universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia.

Advisors Reports gathered that the scholarship opportunity aims to develop indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry.

PTDF in statement obtained from its website said, “Successful candidates will benefit from world-class institutions globally, with provisions including flight tickets, health insurance, tuition fees, and living allowances.

“Applicants must meet specific criteria for academic excellence, professional qualifications, and relevance to the oil and gas industry. MSc applicants require a minimum of Second-Class Upper qualification, completion of NYSC, computer literacy, and 5 O/level credits.

“They must also submit a statement of purpose outlining the study’s relevance and expected impact. PhD applicants need a Second Class Lower in their first degree, a good post-graduate degree, and a research proposal related to the oil and gas industry.

“Applicants must possess a National Identity Number (NIN) and provide verified documents, including certificates, transcripts, and proof of professional memberships.

PTDF therefore emphasised that it is crucial for applicants to adhere to the guidelines, ensure relevance to PTDF’s mandate, and avoid multiple applications to maintain eligibility.

It said, “Candidates selected for the interview stage will be required to present their transcripts.”
