Adeshewa Oreoluwa

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has confirmed Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as its substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, following twenty 20 months in an acting capacity during which she delivered a strong turnaround in the company’s operational and financial performance.

In a statement credited to the Board Chairman, Mr. Oritsedere Otubu, the confirmation of Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as substantive Managing Director and CEO was attributed to her impactful leadership and the company’s sustained progress under her guidance.

Recall that Momoh assumed the acting role in March 2024 following the redeployment of former MD/CEO, Mrs. Tinuade Sanda, to WPG Ltd, the core investor in Eko Disco.

Commending her performance, Otubu noted that the Board’s decision underscores its commitment to performance and continuity, describing the news MD/CEO, as a leader who has demonstrated strong operational discipline, strategic insight, and an ability to drive measurable results.

According to him, her excellent qualities will ensure stability and enable Eko Disco to consolidate its recent achievements.

Mrs. Momoh, in her acceptance speech, expressed appreciation to the Board for the confidence reposed in her and reaffirmed her commitment to driving operational efficiency, service excellence, and customer-focused growth at Eko Electricity Distribution Company.

“I appreciate the confidence the Board has placed in me. The progress we have achieved reflects the dedication of our employees and the trust of our customers,” she stated.

She therefore emphasized that the company’s focus remains on strengthening efficiency, enhancing service quality, and delivering value to all stakeholders.

Advisors Reports’ check showed that Momoh has held several key leadership positions within Eko Disco, including General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager in major business units such as Orile, Mushin, and Apapa.

With nearly 30 years of experience spanning the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and Eko Disco, her career has been marked by strong expertise in commercial operations, marketing, distribution management, and customer relations.

Her outstanding performance has earned her several recognitions, including being named among Nigeria’s Top 50 Best Performing CEOs at The Business Times CEO Forum & Awards 2025 in Lagos, where she was honoured for her contribution to operational improvement and customer-centric innovation at Eko Disco.

Momoh is an alumna of Auchi Polytechnic, where she earned both OND and HND in Business Administration and Marketing, and holds an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University. She is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

In addition to her corporate roles, she has served as an adjunct lecturer at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and has attended several executive leadership programmes in Dubai and Uyo, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence and industry capacity development.
