Transit Gas Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Axxela, sub-Saharan Africa’s leading gas and power solutions provider, has commissioned a newly constructed Primary Healthcare Centre for the residents of Imodi-Ijasi community in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The official commissioning ceremony of the fully equipped healthcare facility was attended by key dignitaries, including Kehinde Alabi, Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, Dr. Tomi Coker, Ogun State Commissioner for Health; officials from the State Ministry of Health; traditional leaders led by the Baale of Imodi-Ijasi; as well as other community stakeholders and notable guests.

Axxela during the event noted that the newly constructed and fully equipped healthcare facility reflects its ongoing commitment to corporate social investment and the sustainable development of its host communities.

The project represents a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in underserved areas.

Kehinde Alabi, Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, n his remark at the event reaffirmed the company’s people-centered approach to development.

He stated, “Our CSR interventions are designed in close consultation with community stakeholders to understand their specific needs and ensure they serve the unique lifestyle requirements of the intended beneficiaries.

“With the completion and handover of the facility, we are confident that this centre will significantly ease the burden of accessing affordable quality healthcare, particularly for women, children, and the elderly,” the MD said.

Dr. Tomi Coker, Ogun State Commissioner for Health, praised the initiative as both timely and impactful, describing it as a model for public-private collaboration.

She said, “This project exemplifies the kind of strategic partnership we encourage between government and the private sector to achieve our universal health coverage goals.

“Beyond the physical infrastructure, Axxela’s commitment to sustainable social development aligns perfectly with our administration’s vision for a healthier Ogun State,” she said.

The commissioning event also included a community health outreach, offering residents free wellness checks such as blood pressure and glucose testing, diagnostic scans, and general medical consultations.

In addition, hundreds of mosquito nets were distributed to promote preventive healthcare.

Advisors Reports gathered that the facility is well equipped to deliver comprehensive primary healthcare services, including maternal and childcare, outpatient services, and essential diagnostics.

This initiative forms part of Axxela’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, which focuses on healthcare, education, and community empowerment.

As a key player in Nigeria’s energy sector, Axxela continues to demonstrate how responsible business practices can deliver meaningful social impact alongside commercial growth.
