Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to deploy 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers nationwide for the distribution of petrol and diesel to marketers, dealers, manufacturers, telecom firms, the aviation sector, and other major users, offering free logistics to cut transportation costs and boost energy efficiency.

The company emphasized that delivery to bulk buyers effective from August 15, 2025, across Nigeria is completely free, from its 650,000 barrels-per-day facility located within Lekki Free Zone, Lagos.

 Abiodun Alade, Internal Communication Specialist at Dangote Industries Limited, confirmed this in a statement released to Advisors Reports on Sunday, detailing its nationwide fuel distribution initiative.

According to the statement, all petrol stations purchasing Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and diesel directly from Dangote Petroleum Refinery will benefit from enhanced logistics support through the deployment of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers.

Alade explained that large-scale marketers and consumers of petroleum products can now purchase directly from the refinery, a move expected to significantly reduce logistics costs and enhance nationwide product availability.

He further noted that reduced fuel costs from the Dangote Refinery “will contribute to lower production costs, reduced inflation, and foster economic growth.”

As part of the relief package, the refinery is also offering a credit facility to bulk buyers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres, allowing them to access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.

The company emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is further supported by the government’s Naira-for-Crude scheme, which it said has helped stabilise fuel supply amid global price volatility.

Dangote said, “This initiative is part of the shared commitment between the FG and Dangote to economic progress, stability, and inclusive development.”

“This phase of the programme will continue over an extended timeframe,” the statement noted.

The company added that it is also investing in CNG refilling infrastructure—referred to as daughter booster stations—backed by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers nationwide to ensure seamless product distribution.

“This strategic programme is part of our broader commitment promoting sustainability and supporting Nigeria’s economic development.

“It affirms our dedication to improving the availability and affordability of fuel, in support of broader efforts to strengthen the economy and improve the well-being of all Nigerians,” the statement added.

“This pioneering effort marks a major milestone in our vision to revolutionise Nigeria’s energy sector. Dangote Refinery is dedicated to ensuring that no place is left behind.

“Our goal is to provide equitable access to affordable fuel for all Nigerians, regardless of location, making energy more accessible and sustainable for everyone, wherever they may be,” the company said.

The initiative, it said, is expected to “revitalise previously inactive petrol stations, thereby driving job creation, stimulating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), increasing government revenue, improving fuel access in rural and underserved communities, and strengthening investor confidence in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.”

The management of Dangote Refinery has therefore called on marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom companies, and other key stakeholders to embrace the initiative.

It further announced that the registration process, including Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, will run from June 16 to August 15, lasting a total of 60 days.
