Dr. Chris Igwe, Managing Director of Mainland Oil, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s energy sector through infrastructure development and the distribution of high-quality petroleum products across the country.

He made this declaration during a media parley with energy editors at the ongoing 18th edition of the African Oil Trading Logistics (OTL) Africa Downstream Energy Week in Lagos.

Dr. Igwe, during the discussion, showcased Mainland Oil’s strengths in lubricant production and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) utilization, highlighting their roles in driving energy security and sustainability across Nigeria and beyond.

He stated, “Producing high-quality lubricants tailored to market needs is a core function of our company.

“Mainland Oil excels in Lubricant Production Excellence with a robust presence in all political zones of Nigeria. Our retail outlets ensure that our products are affordable, readily available, and of the highest quality.”

“In addition to its lubricant offerings, Mainland Oil is actively promoting and distributing CNG as a cost-effective alternative to traditional fuels.

“CNG plays a crucial role in reducing emissions, and we are expanding our distribution network to make it accessible to industries and estates across Nigeria,” Dr. Igwe noted.

Dr. Igwe also addressed the company’s focus on enhancing its distribution capabilities, stating, “We are expanding our trucking facilities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of refined petroleum products.”

He reiterated the importance of collaborating with other stakeholders to develop a robust logistics framework that supports Mainland Oil’s expansive reach.

With over 54 operational outlets and plans for further expansion, Dr. Igwe expressed the company’s ambition to become a market leader in lubricant production and CNG distribution in Africa.

He further noted that the company offers premium products, including Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual-Purpose Kerosene (DPK).

He added that in a bid to drive environmentally conscious energy solutions, Mainland Oil has integrated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) into all new retail outlets to enhance affordability and accessibility.

Beyond retail, Dr. Igwe emphasized the company’s robust distribution network, which extends to supplying products to independent marketers nationwide. He also pointed out that the upcoming Dangote refinery would further boost supply, particularly in the Southwest region, strengthening the country’s energy value chain.
