NNPCL confirms fuel queues dissipating in Lagos, FCT other states

… announces 1.5 bn litres of petrol stockpile to meet 30 days of supply

… cautions motorists against panic buying

As part of measure to thin out supply issues and queues across the country, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a substantial stockpile of over 1.5 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) which it claimed is sufficient to meet over 30 days of suppl.

 

Olufemi Soneye Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Ltd, made this known in a statement obtained by Advisors Reports on Tuesday.

 

According to him, after monitoring some filling stations across several states, including Lagos and the FCT, NNPCL discovered that the fuel queues have since thinned out.
He therefore assured that the development will keep improving daily in other States.

 

Soneye further emphasised that at the moment, NNPCL has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, which is equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency.

 

He also noted that the national oil company is also collaborating with the Nigeran Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labour unions in the sector, security operatives, and other relevant downstream agencies to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices.
